Ducenter collaborates with the writer Marcos Bottesi in promoting his book entitled "Huntington - The History of Generations".
This book aims to spread a rare disease to international comunity, Huntington´s disease, through a history of much reflection and discoveries in a family and, why not say, compassion and hope.
Huntington's disease is a rare and inherited disease that causes the progressive degeneration of nerve cells in the brain, resulting in movement, cognitive and psychiatric disfunctions.
Questions for reflection:
What would your reaction be when you discovered that you have a neurodegenerative disease, with no cure and that you have never heard of?
What if, in addition, you discover that this disease is hereditary and that the chance of passing it on to your descendants is 50%?
Would you think twice about having children? But ... what if you already had children?
Would you encourage your children to take a predictive test to find out if they have inherited the disease?
What would life be like living with this emotional burden of the great possibility of inheriting from the disease?
